NorthStar Trekking combines the spectacular scenery of helicopter
flightseeing in Southeast Alaska with three levels of glacier trekking
experiences on the glaciers of the Juneau Icefield. All trips are conducted
in small
groups to facilitate a personalized and educational experience.
Appropriate
mountaineering gear is provided for each level of trekking and no
previous
mountaineering experience is necessary.
Each of the treks includes 30-35 minutes of flight time in an A-Star helicopter which takes you to
and from your glacier landing site. On the way you will have magnificent views of the landscape as you go from the lush forests at sea level to the granite peaks that surround the glaciers.
Each level of trek varies in the amount of time on the glacier and the level of physical activity involved. Whichever trip you choose ... We'll see you on the glacier.
 All of our trekking trips are operated under permit with the US Forest Service in the Tongass National Forest.
