NorthStar Trekking's founder, Bob Engelbrecht, was a pioneer of helicopter glacier tours in Alaska in the early 1980's. The feedback that he received from those trips inspired him to create an avenue for active guests to spend more time on the glaciers and learn about the environment from experienced and professional guides utilizing mountaineering gear. NorthStar Trekking was founded in 1998 to provide that opportunity.
